Demco 5th Wheel Above-Bed Base Rails Kit Installation - 2013 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look installing the Demco Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rail Kit with custom installation kit on a 2013 Ford F-250. Now this is also gonna work with the Ford F-350 as well. Adding base rails to the bed of your truck is a great option. If you ever plan on having a fifth wheel and being that these are ISR standard it's gonna accept a bunch of different fifth wheels. So no matter what brand you have, it should work with these rails. Now our neighbor today has chosen to get a BMW with a patriot, which is a great option especially if you have a six and a half foot bed because this is a sliding hitch. more

Reese Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Brackets and Rails Kit Installation - 2004 Ford F-250 and F-350 Supe

Ryan: Hey everybody. Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2004 Ford F-250 we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Reese fifth wheel trailer hitch with the custom installation kit.Now just to give you guys an idea on how the rails actually look and work, I went ahead and dropped in our fifth wheel. Now the great thing about these rails is that they're going to work with many different types of fifth wheels, as you can see here. And now with the fifth wheel out of the way, we can take a better look at the rails themselves. The rails are going to have three openings here on each side, and that's going to work with most common fifth wheel hitches because that's where those hitches actually drop into place. Now these are made out of steel and they're really heavy duty and should last a long time. more

This kit is going to allow you to use your fifth wheel trailer hitch and the bed of your truck. Now even though these are above the bed and you're going to sit inside of the bed, they are relatively low profile and they're not really going to take up a whole lot of space or really get in the way. Now one of the things that really separates this kit from any of the others is how well built it is. It's going to be really high quality. more

Reese 5th Wheel Under Bed Rail Kit Installation - 2014 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

Ryan: Hey, everybody. Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2014 Ford F-350, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, the Under-bed Rail Installation kit for Reese Elite Series Fifth-wheel and Gooseneck trailer hitches. What I really like about this under-bed kit is that, when we're not using it, we're going to have complete bed access. We're not going to have any rails or anything like that in the way. Now essentially our F-350's bed is going to have a template, if you will, for our kit. There are spots in the bed that are flat for where our pucks are going to sit. And in most cases, unless you have a very thick bed liner like this, there's actually going to be a dimple in the bed. more

They're only gonna stick up about an inch and a half.So we're still gonna be able to utilize most of our bed space when hauling things like plywood and drywall. They're gonna be constructed out of a black powder-coated steel. Very durable. And they're gonna resist rust or corrosion. Our hardware is gonna run through our bed and are secured to our frame brackets, which are then secured to our frame rails. more

What this is good for, is it's gonna give us total bed access. We're gonna have a 30,000 pound gross trailer weight, which is the trailer plus load included, and a 7,500 vertical load limit. I do recommend checking the owner's manual of your vehicle to make sure your vehicle can withstand that amount of weight. You're gonna go with the lowest number between the vehicle and the hitch. Our center section, our cross members that are gonna spread from frame rail to from rail, and our frame brackets are all gonna have nice powder coat finish, that's gonna resist any rust or corrosion. Let's start with our frame brackets, they're gonna mount to the outside of our frame rails, and they're gonna use existing holes already in the frame. more

Husky Custom Base Rail Kit Installation - 2006 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

Speaker 1: Today, on this 2006 Ford F350 Super Duty, we're going to review and install a Husky custom base rail and installation kit, part number HQ31407-686.Now, a rail kit can be used with a variety of different fifth-wheel hitches out there, such as this Demco product, here. Also work with with Draw-Tite, Reese, Husky, and other brands that are out there. You can see that it's a very conventional setup, got the same two rails as you used to with all the other fifth-wheel rail kits that are out there. Now, this kit is unique that it uses a four-bolt system, instead of the conventional ten-bolt system you see on a lot of other rail kits that are out there. Now, rails do sit as flush as possible to the truck, and still allows you to have full-bed access. However, when you load your truck up, you may have to consider the rails themselves, and also the bolt heads sticking up.All right, we seen what's on top of the bed, let's go beneath the truck, and take a look how the other of the kit is this nice one-piece unit right here, that attaches to the frame of truck, and uses existing bolt holes in the frame. So the only real drilling you have to do is go through the bed of the truck, see, and that's pretty easy, compared to drilling through the frame. One cool little detail about our hitch is actually part of fastening itself. This nut right here clamps into place onto the frame bracket, and makes it real easy to help us tighten down, thread the bolt, get it started and tighten it down. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2006, F-350 Super Duty, we're going to be installing the BMW Custom Installation Kit with Base Rails for fifth wheel trailers. Part number BWRVK2400. Speaker 2: And this is what our rails are going to look like when they're installed. This will allow you to hook up any standard fifth wheel and also some goose neck adapters. The rails are going to sit up about one and a quarter inch, so if you take your fifth wheel out, you're going to have pretty much full bed access. And when compared to universal kits, this one's going to be significantly easier to install. It's custom made for your truck so there's no frame drilling required. more

Reese Quick-Install 5th Wheel Base Rails Kit Installation - 2009 Ford F-250

Speaker 1: Today on our 2009 Ford F250 we'll be having a look at and installing the Reese quick install custom base rails and installation kit for fifth wheel trailer hitches, part number RP50082-58. Here's what our rails look like installed. These are industry standard rails which will accept many gooseneck adapters and other rail mounted accessories. These outboard mounted rails make for a quick and easy install and helps cut installation time almost in half compared to universal mounted rail kits. Now, compared to other rails systems on the market, these don't stick up very high above the bed of our truck at all, giving us maximum amount of bed space that we can utilized. Now when we have a plastic drop-in bed liner such as this truck, once we've cut out around it in order to install our rails properly you can see that it almost sits even with our plastic drop-in bed liner, giving us the maximum ability to lay stuff flat in the bed of our truck. One great feature about these rails is the high gloss black power coat finish that they have will offer a superior rust and corrosion prevention over the years. more

Today on our 2014 Ford F-250 Super Duty we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Reese Quick Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit for fifth wheel trailer hitches. As you can see we're going to have the two heavy duty black powder coated steel rails mounted right to the bed of the truck. Each one secured down with five bolts. As far as modifications to the frame go, there are none. We're going to use existing holes here to pass through our bolts and then just a single nut on the backside, nice and straight forward installation. Another thing I like, you're going to notice that the tabs come outward, that means the end bolts that typically are right above the frame and almost impossible to torque down properly are going to be very readily available and easy to torque down. more

Reese Quick-Install Custom 5th Wheel Base Rails Installation - 2012 Ford F-250- Video

Reese Quick-Install Custom 5th Wheel Base Rails Installation - 2012 Ford F-250

Today on our 2012 F-250 we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Reese quick install custom base rails and outboard installation kit for fifth wheel trailer hitches, part number RP56016-53. So here's what our base rails look like once their fully installed, and what's going to make these great is they are slightly wider than universal fit base rails for fifth wheels. This is going to help us out on installation because since they are wider, they're going to meet up with our frame brackets that are going to be on the outside. So we're going to have very minimal time that we're going to have to actually get under the bed. Now if we come to the outside here, these bolts sticking down are going to meet up with our frame plate which is going to be on the outside of our frame so it's going to make it a lot easier to install than some of the universal kits where you might have to go underneath the bed on the inside of the frame. Now the purpose of these rails are so that you can mount a fifth wheel into the bed of your truck, and it is compatible with several different brands of fifth wheels. So here we have our Reese fifth wheel, and this is going to be part number RP30866, and as you can see it fits nicely into our base rails, giving us the ability to tow with a fifth wheel now. Now the way this is going to mount is we're going to take our pins and we're going to slide them through. more

Demco Hijacker Base Rails Kit Installation - 2005 Ford F-250

Today, on our 2005 Ford F-250, we'll be installing the Demco Hijacker Premiere Series above-bed base rails and custom installation kit for fifth wheel hitches, part number DM8552002-71. These rails are an industry standard design, which will allow us to use gooseneck adapters, fifth wheels, or any other accessory witch attaches to above-bed rail systems like this. It's a very simple installation with minimal drilling required for the install. We only have to drill four holes in our bed of our truck, enlarge one hole on the driver side and drill one hole on the passenger side. These rails feature a nice textured powder coat finish, which will resist corrosion and offer us many years of rust-free service. Now, unlike a lot of the other fifth wheel rail kits on the market, this utilizes an outside the frame mounting technique so it's easy in order to get your bolts to torque. A lot of them are on the inside of the frame and they're drop-down carriage bolts and sometimes they're above the fuel tank, so getting in there with a torque wrench can be difficult. Okay. We've gone ahead and made a straight line across the back of our bed for our rear rail. more

Fifth Wheel Installation - 2006 Ford F-350- Video

Fifth Wheel Installation - 2006 Ford F-350

Today on our 2006 Ford F350, well be installing the Reese Quick-Install Custom Based Rails and installation kit from Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitches part number RP50082-58. Now weve already gone ahead and removed both of the rear wheels as well as lower down the spare tire out of the way. This will give us a little bit more working room. Well begin here by setting our rear rail in place. Well take some measurements to make sure its centered between the welled seems of the bed and then well measure 32 inches to the rear portion of the rail. Now youll notice that this vehicle does have a spray end bed liner, so were going to add approximately 8 of an inch to our measurement to come and save for the extra spray liner. Now that we have the rail centered, as well as at the proper measurement from the rear of the bed, well go ahead and mark our 4 locations that well need to put a pilot hole to make sure that everything will line up. Well go ahead and take our paint marker here and mark these 4 locations. Once these 4 locations are marked, well go ahead and slide the rail out of the way and put 4 pilot holes in, 1 at each of the 4 locations we just marked. Now that we have all 4 pilot holes drilled, well go ahead and go up underneath each of the wheel wells and make sure that our side plates will line up with the pilot holes we just drilled. You will notice that the side plates are right and left sides and you want the flanges to angle outward when you would hold them up into place. Now that weve made sure that our pilot holes are lined up with our side plates, well go ahead and do the step up process and ultimately end up with a 9/16 hole drilled in the bed at these 4 locations. more

Fifth Wheel Hitch Kit Installation - 2000 Ford F-350 Pickup

Today on this 2000 Ford F-350 pickup we are going to install part number RP50082-58 from Reese. Also our 22K Reese fifth wheel hitch part number 30033. The first step involves removing the spare tire and take it down temporarily so you have some access to work underneath the vehicle to tighten up the nuts and bolts. The second thing we want to do is go to the driver side of the vehicle and disconnect the the hanger that holds the parking brake cable. That will get reattached to the frame bracket when we install that. This is the back side of the nut that we just took off of the bolt so we will just pull that out of our way. What is going to happen is this is going to get sandwiched between the bracket and the actual frame of the vehicle when we reinstall it. The next thing we are going to do is go to the bed of the truck and we will put the first rail in and mark its location. As you can see here we have got the first rail in the bed of the pickup and what you need to do is measure from the edge that we see facing us towards the edge of the bed itself. Then we want to make sure we have the rail even left to right. 01:06 more
